Volunteer - Big Brothers Big Sisters Autumn Culinaire

An eclectic sampling from New Jersey’s finest restaurants accompanied by tastings of international wines and beers. There will also be a Silent Auction.

Location: Greenacres Country Club, 2170 Lawrence Road (Rt 206 just off I-95), Lawrenceville, NJ

Time: 6 pm - 9:30 pm

Volunteers are needed:
At the event (plan on arriving by 5:30 pm): Work in the Silent Auction room. Keep an eye on items; be sure the bidding is running smoothly. Help close the auction, record the results, and collect funds from winning bidders.

Food will be available for volunteers.

Volunteers may be asked to attend a meeting in advance of the event to go over procedures. It seems that last year’s meeting was its own wine and cheese event and everyone had a good time!
During the day: Set up the Silent Auction, registration tables, etc. Lunch will be provided for volunteers
Silent Auction committee: Meet a couple of times – once to discuss prospects and divide tasks and later to report progress and redirect as needed. This would probably also involve an afternoon or two of visiting local merchants to ask for items for the auction. This can be done in pairs. Letters, tax exempt info , etc. will be provided.

Leader: BJ Drews

As it is hoped that volunteers will attend the training meeting, please contact BJ ASAP if you can work at this event.

TBA Volunteer - Lions' Eye
Lions' Eye Logo
The World Health Organization estimates that the eyesight of one-fourth of the world's population can be improved through the use of corrective lenses.

Unfortunately for many, a pair of glasses is both unaffordable and inaccessible. In developing countries, an eye exam costs as much as one month's wages, and a single doctor may serve a community of hundreds of thousands of people.

For nearly 70 years, individual Lions Clubs have collected used eyeglasses for distribution to the needy in developing nations.

Volunteers are needed to help sort glasses for distribution to other countries at the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf.

Time:  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Location:  Katzenbach School for the Deaf, 320 Sullivan Way, West Trenton (drive in until you have to turn right; then, fourth, & final, left at the stop sign)
