Social Sail on the AJ Meerwald

The A. J. Meerwald is a Delaware Bay oyster schooner, a distinct vessel that evolved to meet the needs of the local oyster fishery. Launched in 1928, the A. J. Meerwald was one of hundreds of schooners built along South Jersey's Delaware Bayshore before the decline of the shipbuilding industry that coincided with the Great Depression.

Sail from Burlington to Philadelphia and back. The sail lasts about 2.5 hours. Afterwards, dinner at Curtin's Wharf in Burlington.

Time: Meet at 12 pm at the Lawrenceville Branch of the Mercer Co. Library to carpool to Burlington for a 1:30pm sailing.

Cost: $30 plus dinner

We typically help with registration, water stations, directing walkers, etc. Particulars TBA.

Have a blast helping folks play bingo!

Help residents of Mercer County Geriatric Center play bingo. Due to sight and hearing limitations, some residents need assistance to play this fun and lively game. This event generates a lot of interest, so be sure to sign up early!

Time:  6:15 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.

Saturday, September 27 Volunteer - Usher for Peter Nero and the Philly Pops

Peter Nero and the Philly Pops return to the Patriots Theater for their signature show, “Broadway Showstoppers”, combining Broadway’s brightest stars with the magic of the Philly Pops.

The concert will benefit The Foundation of Morris Hall/St. Lawrence, Inc., which consists of St. Mary’s Assisted and Residential Living and St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Center at Morris Hall, and St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, a 129-bed, not-for-profit, physical rehabilitation hospital. The funds raised will be used to provide charity care for the residents and patients of the facility.

Time:  Usher call at 6:30 p.m.

Dress:  Black pants/skirt, white top.  No jeans, comfortable black shoes, tie not required for gentlemen, but it does set the right tone!
