The world of Cleopatra, which has been lost to the sea and sand for nearly 2,000 years, surfaces in this new exhibition, Cleopatra: The Search for the Last Queen of Egypt, making its world premiere at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Organized by National Geographic and Arts and Exhibitions International, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and the European Institute for Underwater Archaeology (IEASM), the exhibition features never before seen artifacts, and takes visitors inside the present-day search for Cleopatra, which extends from the sands of Egypt to the depths of the Bay of Aboukir near Alexandria.

After the exhibit, we’ll find a Philadelphia eatery to grab a bite.

Saturday, September 25 Volunteer - Lions' Eye
Lions' Eye Logo
The World Health Organization estimates that the eyesight of one-fourth of the world's population can be improved through the use of corrective lenses.

Unfortunately for many, a pair of glasses is both unaffordable and inaccessible. In developing countries, an eye exam costs as much as one month's wages, and a single doctor may serve a community of hundreds of thousands of people.

For nearly 70 years, individual Lions Clubs have collected used eyeglasses for distribution to the needy in developing nations.

Volunteers are needed to help sort glasses for distribution to other countries at the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf.
